Lubbock Area United Way is honored to welcome Coach Krista Gerlich, head coach of the Texas Tech Lady Raiders Basketball team, as this year’s keynote speaker.
A Texas Tech legend, national champion, and proud Red Raider, Gerlich returned to her alma mater in 2020 to lead one of the nation’s most storied women’s basketball programs. Entering her seventh season as head coach, she is coming off a historic 2025–26 campaign that saw the Lady Raiders finish 26–8, earn a national ranking, return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013, and advance with their first tournament victory in two decades. Her remarkable season earned her Big 12 Coach of the Year honors while reestablishing Texas Tech Women’s Basketball as a national contender.
Known for her passion, resilience, and commitment to developing leaders on and off the court, Coach Gerlich inspires others to pursue excellence through perseverance, teamwork, and purpose. Her message is a fitting way to launch this year’s campaign as we come together to celebrate the stories Behind the Mission and the collective impact we can make throughout our community.
