The Lubbock Area United Way is nearing the finish line of its annual campaign that helps fund services across the South Plains.

The organization works with dozens of community partners to address the area’s biggest needs. United Way’s priorities include education, safety and mental health, but other issues are also highlighted each year in the community status report.

This year’s campaign goal is $5.8 million. United Way hopes to hit that by Nov. 29. You can donate today on their website.

Amanda McAffee, vice president of community impact at the Lubbock Area United Way, recently visited the Texas Tech Public Media studio to talk more about this year’s community status report and fundraising efforts. Hear the full interview above.
