Our community partners work to develop strategies that encourage learning opportunities, brain development, and early literacy skills at home, in the classroom, and in the community.
Lubbock Area United Way seeks to increase access to educational programs and materials to promote literacy and educational attainment for people of all ages.
Part of our priority of education is reading comprehension, because it is essential for success in the classroom. Our community partners provide programs that empower parents and caregivers to promote classroom success by providing early literacy resources and activities. It takes a team to support a child’s education and growth.
By encouraging schools, community leaders, and caregivers to collaborate, we can expand opportunities, remove barriers, and inspire all to reach their full potential.
We want every family in the South Plains to have access to quality and affordable childcare so that their children are kindergarten ready. Our annual Day of Play brings over 1,000 families together to showcase the benefits of quality play.
