We’re here to help you in the times you need it most. If you need shelter, groceries, or help paying rent, seek support through our Emergency Food and Shelter Program. (EFSP) The EFSP was started in 1983 to provide non-disaster related assistance to our community, and strives to provide relief for individuals in all types of situations.
Lubbock Area United Way administers grants for Lubbock County EFSP programs that serve people without housing and those at risk for homelessness.
Local board members represent national board member agencies, including the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, Council of Churches of Christ, Jewish Federation, Salvation Army, and United Way, as well as representatives from local county government, veterans, and homeless individuals. Lubbock County has been awarded Federal funds totaling $119,217 made available through the Department of Homeland Security and the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.
